Course 6

Under the ICMR/AU - STRC Health Practitioners/Researchers Capacity Building Scheme, a Call for Applications was announced (in June, 2019) for training of African researchers through seven courses to be conducted by the ICMR Institutes in India in the year 2019.

The sixth course on ‘Epidemiologic data analysis and inference’ has been organized at ICMR- National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai during 2-6 December, 2019 and attended by 21 African researchers from Sierra Leone, Kenya, Egypt, Benin, Zambia, Morocco, Burundi, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Gambia, Gabon, Togo, Cameroon, Ghana and Tanzania.

This five-day course provides a comprehensive overview of epidemiological study designs, descriptive and analytical epidemiological analysis, data analysis using statistical software, and making valid inferences from data. The course is a combination of lectures, interactive case studies and hands-on training in using software for data analysis facilitated by experienced faculty from ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai.
