Area of Work: Research area of interest is mycotoxin research. I am trying to develop and validate the HPLC/LCMS MS methods for the estimation of aflatoxin B1 biomarker (Aflatoxin B1-lysine adduct) in the serum samples. I am working on the mycotoxin contamination levels in the various commonly consumed foods and herbal medicines and assess the human health risk associated with the consumption of mycotoxin contaminated foods.
I am also trying to understand the role of aflatoxin in anemia by studying the molecular and biochemical aspects.
I am also working on heavy metal contamination in water, foods and herbal medicines.
I have experience working on fluoride toxicity and fluorosis (10 years’ experience). I am the Organizing Secretary for the fluoride training (Training of Trainers and Training for Laboratory Technicians) under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis at ICMR-NIN.
